Ductwork Cleaning

Why Have Your Ductwork Cleaned?

  • Have you ever had your ductwork cleaned?
  • Did you move into a new-to-you home and wondered what the previous owner left behind for you?
  • Do you have allergies?
  • Do you have pets?
  • Do you live in a highly dusty environment?
  • Has your home been remodeled?
  • Are you scared to lift up the floor register and stick your arm down the duct for fear of what might be lurking in there?

You clean your floors/carpet, furniture, clothes, microwave, cars, perhaps the kids and even pets. Right? Then why would you not clean your ductwork that carries the vital air you breathe whenever you are there? Has it ever been cleaned? Do you know that potentially there are all kinds of things lurking there such as dirt, dust, pet hair and dander, old dead “critters” and all the microscopic things that feast all those other things? Now envision the air that you breathe being blown through your ductwork, spread throughout your home, finally resting in your lungs.

Just call us now. You know you need to.

The Cleaning Process

Pyramid Heating & Cooling uses the RotoBrush© system to clean ductwork. This system is a powerful vacuum, with special filtration and a 28’ hose attached to it. The end of the hose is a brush that rotates and agitates the dirt in your ductwork, and it is immediately drawn back into the hose by the powerful vacuum. We turn on the vacuum; the brush spins clockwise and works its way down the duct run. When we’ve reached the stopping point (distribution box or furnace) we reverse the spin of the brush and clean coming back out as well. The vacuum has a large HEPA filtration system so all that bad stuff that was in your ductwork is safely taken away and not released into your home.

A typical home has 12 to 15 supply and return “openings” and the process takes 3-4 hours to complete.

This process is especially useful for single-family and multi-family residences, light commercial buildings and particularly after a new construction or remodel project has been completed.

Dryer Vent Cleaning: We have a 4” brush designed to clean the lint from your dryer vent. Restricted or plugged vents make the dryer work harder to vent out the moist air, thus it takes longer to dry your clothes.
Camera Inspection: Do you want to know what is in there? We have a specialized camera to view the inside of your ductwork. We can get a before and after view of your ductwork. We may use the camera to find problems with ductwork that is hidden behind sheetrock or tight crawl spaces.
Germicidal Spray: We have a germicidal/antibacterial spray that may be applied to your ductwork if you desire after the cleaning process. We recommend it. It is optional for those customers that have a sensitivity to chemicals.

Our process involves protecting your home, removing and cleaning all registers and grilles, and cleaning up after ourselves before we leave your home, making you a happy and satisfied customer….part of the Pyramid family.

Our charges are all-inclusive
Before you acccept one of those ridiculously low-priced offers you see from time to time, ask them these questions:

  • Are they licensed, bonded and insured?
  • Do they know ductwork intimately because they have extensively installed it in new construction as well as retrofit environments?
  • How long have they been around?
  • By what process will they clean your ductwork?
  • Are they professional HVAC contractors?
  • What will they do if they damage your ductwork? Will they hire an HVAC contractor to repair their damages?
  • Do they have any other “unadvertised fees” such as setup, hourly rates, or other hidden charges for other expensive services that are conveniently not mentioned or clear in the ad?
  • Do they give you a complete satisfaction guarantee?
Who do you want doing your work for you?
There are many quality companies that do a good job of duct cleaning. There are a variety of competent ways to clean ductwork. You should trust your ductwork to a professional. Be sure of who you are hiring. Be sure you are hiring a competent, licensed, bonded and insured contractor and what you are getting for your money!
